We loved loved loved going through them and we’re so grateful for you sharing your talent so generously. We cannot wait to buy these and make a big photo album out of them!"
It was also your warm nature that made myself and the rest of our bridal party as well as the guests feel so comfortable. Putting us at ease ultimately allowed for many candid shots to be taken. You are truly a talented photographer and we would choose you all over again."
remarking on how nice he was and how he would strike up a conversation with people all night. The turn around time for the wedding photos was also amazing compared to other people I have talked to. 10/10 would recommend!!"
He's an incredible photographer! We had him do our wedding photos and all the photos turned out so nice. He kept in touch with us, and really helped guide us through the whole process since we had no idea what we were doing"
What to expect when we work together
My approach to wedding photography combines documentary and editorial styles. This means that your photos will be a perfect blend of candid authenticity and stylish artistry. Throughout your wedding day, I'll be quietly capturing moments as they unfold. Occasionally, I’ll provide some posing directions, but only when it’s welcomed and unobtrusive.
My time as an Ottawa wedding photographer has taught me that capturing authentic moments is the key to great wedding photos, and I’ve found that the best way to achieve that authenticity is through offering light direction only when necessary. I’ll offer posing suggestions based on the lighting and surrounding environment (minimal things like, “walk this way” and “look at each other”), all while keeping things laid back and totally relaxed!
My priority is making you feel comfortable so you can be yourselves together because that’s when you look your best!
Typically, the context of what particular amount of coverage will get you roughly looks like this:
6 hours - Ceremony, Reception/Portraits, Dinner/Speeches
8 hours - Ceremony, Reception/Portraits, Dinner/Speeches, late-night festivities
or Getting-ready, Ceremony, Reception/Portraits, Dinner/Speeches
10 hours - Getting-ready, Ceremony, Reception/Portraits, Dinner/Speeches, Late-night Festivities
I understand that timelines and priorities change leading up to every wedding, and you may not have this detail decided on yet. This is why I will always allow you to add coverage closer to your wedding date. Even on your wedding date, I can stay longer if needed! All you need to do at this phase is make sure we would be a good fit and that our values are aligned.
Yes! I always encourage my couples to add a little nostalgic flair to their photo gallery with 35mm film photography or a super 8 video. For more info on how to add wedding film photography & Super 8 in Ottawa (and beyond), check out my Wedding Photography Price & Information Guide, which you’ll see receive once you send me your initial inquiry.
Don’t worry if you want to keep the celebration going longer than scheduled. I’ll never leave you hanging! Additional coverage is always possible for an extra charge. You can see the pricing details for additional coverage in my Wedding Photography Price & Information Guide you will receive once you inquire!
When I’m editing, my goal is to make the photos feel as “true to life” and natural as possible. I want you to look at your photos and be taken back to how the day felt. That being said, if there’s a stain, blemish or anything that wouldn’t be there 2 weeks after the wedding, I will remove it!
Embrace it! Rain can add such an incredible energy to your photos, and rain on your wedding day is such a fun memory to have. Just know that if you’re out in the rain, I’ll be out there with you too!
If we’re caught in the rain while we’re taking portraits, we can find a sheltered area to explore and get unique shots we might not have discovered otherwise.
And if it starts raining while we’re outdoors at your ceremony, I’ll be there through it all, capturing the beauty of the day no matter what the weather throws at us!
I’m more than happy to help you realize your vision for the photoshoot of your dreams! However, working from a rigid, predetermined shot list can often do more harm than good. They can limit creativity and detract from the natural flow of the day, which is essential to great wedding photography.
Everything’s fine in moderation, though! If there is a particular shot you want to recreate and it won’t take away from your wedding events, we can definitely make it happen!
I offer Super 8 film as a video service! It's a beautiful medium that always made me think of home videos or videos from my parents wedding. When choosing Super 8 as an add on - you will receive a 2-3 minute highlight reel of moments throughout your wedding day. Check out a Super 8 video here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JEPY5Gm7tw
If you'd like a more modern take on videography at your wedding, I am happy to recommend you my preferred videography vendors.
Yes! As an Ottawa wedding photographer, I consider the city my home base, but I’m always ready to travel anywhere you need me to be. For shoots 200+ km from Ottawa, there is a flat domestic travel rate of $400, and for international travel the fee varies depending on the location of the venue.
I always have extra gear on me in case something malfunctions. I also use weather-resistant gear so that we can keep capturing incredible shots even in the rain!
