Capturing the intimate and heartfelt elopement of Beth and Lawrence was a truly unique experience that embodies the beauty of Ottawa’s charm for such special occasions. Our day began at the historic city hall, where the couple exchanged their vows in an intimate ceremony. As an elopement photographer specializing in documentary-style photography, I strive to capture the authenticity of each moment, and this elopement was a perfect example of this. Following the ceremony, we ventured to the enchanting ornamental gardens. Here, amid the blooms and lush greenery, I photographed the couple and their family, creating portraits that felt both natural and beautifully composed. As the sun began to set, we concluded our day at Parlour in Ottawa. This trendy spot was the perfect setting for a relaxed and joyous celebration with their friends and family. The laughter, candid moments, and the clinking of glasses under the warm, ambient lighting were all captured, telling the story of their day in the most genuine way possible.

“Shawn made all of our friends and family feel so comfortable and at ease, particularly for a group that isn’t used to being photographed. He captured so many natural moments without people feeling observed or watched. We also really appreciated the attention and process before the day, as well as the easy-to-use system for gathering our hopes for how the day would proceed.”
